Summer Update

Yeah...it's been a while!!

We had a whirlwind summer...it went by so fast and I don't remember accomplishing much. I guess the important part was spending time together as a family.

The boys spent most of June at the pool. I tried to get out of it as much as possible and Brad did take them several nights without me. Jax, Linc & Reag are all great swimmers. I really need to get Reag in add'l swim lessons, he only took one class but has taught himself how to swim underwater and can swim across the pool. He is really hard to keep track of because he jumps in the 5ft and just takes off. Karter was so excited to start doing the slide by himself and will jump in anywhere as long as he has his mini tube with him.

Kennadie had a pass to Whitewater and went there with Cassidy this summer, hung out at the pool, went to a week of girls camp here in Georgia and then flew to Utah to attend EFY at BYU. She stayed with her cousins, Grandma & Grandpa Beighley and went to another girls camp in Utah. Before she knew it she had been gone five weeks and only had a week at home before she had to go back to school.

The rest of the family drove to Utah the end of June and stayed til the middle of July. We went to a Johnson family reunion, Jolley reunion, Beighley reunion (1st one in 20 years), had Lincoln's Baptism on the 4th of July (yay), hiked Timp Cave, went to movies, toured a fish hatchery, went to the Oquirrh Temple open house, did a session at Mt. Timpanogos, boating at Mona Reservoir & Yuba and just hung out with the family. Grandpa hung a bunch of new swings in the sycamore tree so the boys played on them for hours. We also got caught up on everyone's dentist and eye appt's. I know it's crazy but I love our dentist & optometrist in Utah and am still not willing to switch. However we did find out that Kennadie needs her wisdom teeth out soon or her perfectly straight teeth will start to crowd (need to find an oral surgeon quick!) Brad got to play a few rounds of golf with his buddies from Novell and probably most important (haha) to me was eating at all my favorite places: Brick Oven, Purple Turtle, Parkers, La Frontera, Daylight Donuts & Red Robin!!! The two things I didn't get done was shopping w/Doni and family pictures. We were able to get a few together but nothing planned.

None of the boys wanted to head back to Georgia but we had to be back for Jaxson & Linc to go to cub scout Twilight Camp. Jaxson is a webelo and Linc is a wolf. They went every night for a week from 6-9 and did some pretty cool stuff. Of course the favorites were archery and bb gun's. I was able to go help with Linc's den three nights and my favorite part was the traveling star lab that was brought in.
